Identity and Facilitation: Ha'ikar
Ha'ikar - The Most Important Thing, is a monthly, young adult discussion group handling fear and emotions after October 7th. Created by my friend and myself, the group aims to cultivate a brave space and a comfortable environment where participants can express their thoughts and opinions, as well as disagree in a respectful manner. Facilitators Jacob Weiss and Jay Ginsherman were inspired to create this program in response to rising anti-semitism in the GTA.
Taking on the responsibility for communications, I created a visual identity for the project that was in line with the host synagogue’s brand guidelines. I developed consistent posters and other promotional material for this initiative. I worked with my partner to create a successful method of facilitating conversations on hard-to-discuss topics. Ha’Ikar meets monthly and welcomes 6-18 participants, many of them returning each month.
